Audio Issue
Kamal Haasan has already planned to release his magnum opus movie Viswaroopam's audio on three major cities simultaneously. It’s now official that the audio launch will happen in exactly the same way Kamal had planned, but on a different date.
On December 7th, the entire team of Vishwaroopam will be flying to Madurai’s Velammal College Ground in the morning to launch their audio and to Hindustan College grounds, Coimbatore in the afternoon. In the evening a grand launch has been scheduled in Chennai and the venue will be disclosed very soon by the team.
Now, the Andhra audience who have been waiting to watch Vishwaroopam will be required to make a tough choice as the same day will see the release of Telugu Superstar Mahesh Babu’s 'Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu' which also stars Venkatesh, Samantha and Anjali. The same day might also see the release of Ram Charan Teja’s Nayak.
Movie Release Issue :
Recent newspaper ads have revealed that the film will hit the screens on January 11th, the weekend before Pongal. The date will see the simultaneous release of the film in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu. Eventhough Kamal had another problem with the release of Viswaroopam.
During the meeting with distributor of tamil nadu, kamal happened to face some controversy. As a result of that controversy, Tamil theatre's owner association took a decision to ban Viswaroopam. Now Kamal has planned to release Viswaroopam on TV and Dish TV on the same day. He is negotiating with indian TV distributor to release the movie for 6 months at a cost of 100 crores by all the versions Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. But no results came out from the issue.
Here is the negotiation plan ,first day one time release rs. 50 crores with DTH operators (Tata SKY, Dish TV, Reliance and Airtel - Except Sun Dish TV).
Tamil nadu distributors got shocked to hear this news to selling of 50 crore for a single day. The distributors invited kamal to repercussions of kamal's viswaroopam release plan. Because it will affect all other movie which is going to release on pongal release and theater collection will get affect.If Kamal's TV release idea becomes a success, many future movies will follow this new revenue model resulting in slowly wiping out the theatrical collections.
But Kamal is still silent to let his plan out. He will give his official announcement on the audio launch date, December 7th. If it works kamal will be the initiator of such a new paln to closeout the theater collections.
